That’s why MAOAM set out to find out as much as they could about mischief making. They even conducted a nationwide mischief study that searched for the nation’s biggest mischief-makers.

The results are now in and Yorkshire has absolutely smashed it. The mischief study shows Yorkshire is home to not one but two of the UK’s most mischievous places - Sheffield and Leeds.

Overall the mischief study found that a whopping 29 percent of people from Leeds are committed pranksters, constantly on the lookout for situations where they can play harmless, yet hilarious, tricks on those around them.

The average person from Leeds plays a mammoth four pranks a month on friends and family, with the classic jumping out and shouting ‘boo’ at someone coming top of the practical jokes list (48 percent).

Encouragingly, 43 percent of people from Leeds strongly believe that a bit of harmless mischief is vital to a happy family life, while 46 percent say that a family who laughs together, stays together.

Last Thursday (September 24), MAOAM celebrated the region’s mischievousness by renaming the county… MAOAMSHIRE. (The most mischievous sweet + the most mischievous region = MAOAMSHIRE).

MAOAM completely took over the White Rose Centre for the day, playing pranks with Heart Yorkshire Radio stars, Dixie and Emma, on unsuspecting shoppers.
