The (Built) Environment lunchtime event will be held at Howard Assembly Room, the magnificent concert hall in New Briggate, on Thursday, September 22, noon to 1pm.

Tickets are selling fast but LIFI organisers LeedsBID have teamed with media partner the YEP to give one lucky reader the chance to win a pair plus Waterstones donated books by other authors at the festival, now in its seventh year.

LIFI 2022 – September 22 - 25 – is a celebration of new ideas and innovation, with a focus on thought provoking talks to tackle diverse, crucial questions of our time.

Other speakers include classicist Mary Beard, celebrity chef Yotam Ottolenghi, historian David Olusoga and BBC TV’s Click co-presenter Lara Lewington, plus many more.

Designer McCloud, aged 63, Channel 4's Grand Designs host since its 1999 debut, will discuss how cities can evolve to become sustainable places to live, work and play.

With commitments to net zero around the corner, he will reveal how we can harness the heritage of our cities and innovate to reimagine the built environment around us for a better tomorrow.
