Slade icon Noddy says of When Christmas Begins: “A very atmospheric song. I’m a sucker for a good melody and a clever lyric.

"I’m still sussing out all the historic messages from past Christmas songs”.

St Elmo’s Fire rock star John Parr also loves the single and says on Twitter: “Wishing every success for @Jack_T_Harper and his new single ‘When Christmas Begins’.

"It’s a bit of fun that name checks all our old Christmas favourites! See how many you can hear / spot!”

Once in a while a track comes along in the festive period to join the likes of Wizard, Chris Rea, Mariah Carey and the mighty Slade.

Jack, from Sheffield, was thrilled to get the testimonial from Noddy and his own song is proving a big hit with festive fun lovers everywhere.

There’s a game they play, to see how many Christmas references they can hear in the track.

"To get the nod from Noddy was a wonderful early Christmas present,” said Jack, who is now hoping When Christmas Begins could become the next big festive hit.

“From Fairytale of New York to Driving Home For Christmas, everyone has their favourite Christmas song – the kind that swirls around our consciousness every December.

"So I decided to write a song about them all and take listener on a whistle stop festive journey.

"People tell me the more they listen to the track, the more references they hear. I’m thrilled with the reaction to the song.”
