Viewers will be sad to see the show end after nine weeks, while feeling hopeful that their preferred baker takes the crown.

The much-anticipated final show comes after a bit of controversy, when fan-favourite baker Hermine left the series in the last round after her cube cake disaster.

Viewers were shocked that she was snubbed a place in the final, with Laura having to take to Twitter to speak out against backlash she received after the judges put her through.

This year’s Great British Bake Off saw a number of changes introduced, with Noel Fielding co-presenting with Matt Lucas as Sandi Toksvig hung up her apron after the 2019 series.

And due to coronavirus, the 120-strong crew, cast and presenters - including the judges - isolated as one big bubble for the duration of the programme when it was filmed during the summer.

So, when and where is the final showing - and which baker has the best chance of winning?

When and where can I watch the final?

The much-anticipated final of the Great British Bake Off 2020 will air on Channel 4 on Tuesday, 24 November at 8pm.

Peter, Dave and Laura will battle it out in the Signature, Technical and Showstopper rounds before being joined by their families, who were isolating with the contestants, to be crowned the show’s winner.

Fans can also watch the GBBO final live on their smartphones for free via Channel 4’s dedicated app, All 4, which is available for download.

If, shockingly, you miss the final, you can watch it on Channel 4 on demand, usually within a few hours of the live show.

What is the theme of the final?

Not much is known about the theme for this year’s Great British Bake Off final, but here’s the information we have so far.

For the signature challenge, the contestants will have to make puff pastries with set custard, which sounds simple but will likely have a technical twist to really test the bakers.

The technical challenge will be a classic combination of chocolate and nuts, but we’re not sure what the rest of the usually complicated brief is.

And for the final showstoppers, the bakers will have to impress the judges more than they ever have before with decadent dessert towers.

We can’t wait to see what they come up with.

Who are the finalists?

The remaining three bakers in the tent are Peter Sawkins, Dave Friday and Laura Adlington.

Peter, 20, has managed to impress the judges every week and won star baker in the semi-finals.

Baking isn’t his only talent as the Edinburgh student is currently studying towards a degree in accounting and finance.

Hampshire-born Dave recently welcomed his first child into the world with his girlfriend Stacey.

The 30-year-old armoured guard has been praised by the judges for his growth in confidence.

Dave was just pipped at the post for Star Baker during the semi-finals, but he did come out on top in Biscuit Week.

Laura, 31, is a digital designer from Kent.

The Samaritans volunteer sees her strengths as decoration and time management, winning Star Baker in pastry week with a nod to her home city - a botanical themed “Garden of Kent” caged tart.

Who could win the Great British Bake Off 2020?

Each finalist has a strong chance of winning, after securing the coveted Star Baker title at least once throughout the series.

However, Edinburgh student Peter is the only finalist to have won Star Baker twice, after triumphing during the semi-finals with a seriously impressive cube cake.

This could mean the odds of winning are in his favour.

According to Ladbrokes, the odds of Peter winning are 2/5, the odds for Dave are 9/5 chance and Laura’s odds are 8/1.

This shows that Peter may indeed be the one to beat - but, as we know all too well, anything can happen during a Great British Bake Off final.

We can’t wait for the drama.
