PREVIEW: Indie stars Elbow, Sleeper and The Bluetones plus Britpop tributes to play O2 Academy Leeds

The Clone Roses, The Smiths Ltd, The Charlatunes and Laid are all on one bill while Oasis tribute act Definitely Mightbe will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Madchester superstars' album, (What’s The Story) Morning Glory?

One Day Like This chart stars Elbow, with support from Jessica Hoop, play two nights on Monday and Tuesday, April 6 and 7.

Elbow have built a reputation as one of Britain’s best live bands and they’re heading out on an intimate tour in honour of their eighth album, Giants Of All Sizes.

Britpop legends Sleeper and The Bluetones are heading out on a co-headline tour, which will see them both perform their debut albums in full at O2 Academy Leeds on Saturday, September 5.

Sleeper will play a special 25th anniversary set of Smart, whilst The Bluetones will treat fans to the double platinum Expecting To Fly, with a greatest hits set from each group to follow.

Star Shaped will also be hosting after-parties for all the dates, with an exclusive Mark Morriss DJ set each night which is included in the ticket price.

The venue is promising the ultimate Manchester night out with tribute bands The Clone Roses, The Smiths Ltd, The Charlatunes and Laid, a James sound-a-like band, playing on Saturday, June 6.

Widely regarded as the top tribute to Madchester icons The Stone Roses, The Clones will be playingh classic anthems like Waterfall, She Bangs the Drums, Made of Stone and, of course, I am the Resurrection.

Their attention to detail is astounding whether it’s the same amps or setlist or clothing or sound, The Clones have it nailed.

Highlights have include playing in front of a 2,500 capacity crowd at The Manchester Academy, to over 4,000 on the main stage at Bestival, Camp Bestival and Kendal Calling.

Committed to getting the same energy that Morrissey, Johnny Marr, Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce had onstage together, the band are also obsessed about getting the live sound just right.

The Charlatunes are the UK’s number one tribute to Madchester legends The Charlatans, emulating the look, sound and attitude of the hitmakers who gave the world One to Another, North Country Boy, The Only One i Know, Indian Rope, Then and Sproston Green to name a few.

Laid, a tribute to James, play hits including Sit Down, She’s a Star, Tomorrow, Come Home and Laid.

To mark the 25th anniversary of Oasis’ album (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? the definitive tribute to the band, Definitely Mightbe, will be playing the album in full, as well as a greatest hits set, at a series of unmissable live shows - including O2 Academy Leeds on Friday, September 11.

Classic songs like Champagne Supernova, She's Electric, Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger will all be delivered with the swagger and sound of the originals, making this a must see for any Oasis fan.
