But this time round, the producers decided to switch things up by changing the filming location.

Series two was shot in Fiji, which is much closer to Australia and therefore an easier location for bringing in new cast members at short notice.

Majella Wiemers, ITV Studios’ head of entertainment, told The Sunday Telegraph: "We still have a crew of casting agents back in Sydney who are selecting contestants while the show’s on air to come into later episodes.

"We can be more reactive and send someone in within 48 hours if we think they’d be good for the villa."

While series two of Love Island Australia is only being shown in the UK now, it was actually filmed way back in 2019.

It premiered on the Nine Network and 9Now in Australia on Monday 7 October 2019.

The series ran for 35 days, with the finale airing on 14 November that year.

That means the stars from the second series will be living their post-Love Island lives while UK audiences are watching them in the villa.

It’s a stark contrast to when the British version of the show airs, with contestants living and interacting in the villa while viewers watch back home.

However, in 2021 it has a primetime TV spot, with each episode airing every evening at 9pm on ITV2.

The show kicked off on 1 March, so there is still plenty of time to catch up if you missed it.

If that’s the case, you can watch each episode on-demand via the ITV Hub.
