Iconic Leeds United mural saved, restored and updated with the latest managerial legend
The famous Otley Road tribute featuring Revie, Wilkinson, and Bielsa has been saved from structural damage and completely repainted by the original artist, Flarris
A much-loved Wharfedale landmark celebrating Leeds United’s greatest managerial legends has been fully restored and updated following essential structural repairs.
The massive tribute, painted on the side of the former Yorkshire Rose pub on Otley Road - now home to the Yorkshire Dental Suite - has stood as a celebrated local landmark since it was first unveiled five years ago.

Over the last fortnight, the site has undergone a complete structural transformation, with the prominent gable wall was structurally reinforced, repaired, and entirely re-rendered to protect the building's longevity before the artwork could be safely reinstated.
Following the building work, original Leeds artist Phil Harris - who works under the moniker 'Flarris' - returned to the scaffolding to completely recreate and modernise the piece.
The updated mural now spans generations of Elland Road history, featuring iconic legendary managers Don Revie, Howard Wilkinson, and Marcelo Bielsa alongside current Whites boss Daniel Farke.
'A powerful symbol of pride'
The project was completed in collaboration with the Leeds United Supporters’ Trust, who have welcomed the preservation of the artwork following fears that the building's change of use might look to erase it.
Clair Hufton, Board Member of the Leeds United Supporters’ Trust, commented: “Since its unveiling in 2021, this mural has stood as a powerful symbol of pride and passion for our club and community.
"We commend the team for working with us, and their commitment to preserving both the safety of the site and the spirit of the artwork. The return of Phil Harris to recreate the mural, and the addition of Daniel Farke, is an exciting moment for supporters, ensuring this tribute continues to evolve and inspire fans for years to come.”
The Otley Road building was converted into a cosmetic dental practice last year by co-founders Dr Hassan Dalghous and Dr Hussein Dalghous, who funded the structural restoration of the wall to ensure the painting could remain a permanent fixture of the Guiseley streetscape.
"This mural is part of the identity of the area," the co-founders said. "Seeing it brought back to life in this way has been incredibly special, and we wanted to invest in its restoration so it can continue to be enjoyed safely by football fans for years to come.”
With the scaffolding now down, the prominent piece stands fully refreshed as a vibrant nod to the city's footballing heritage ahead of the new season.
