Hidden club? You have to know to know.

It’s a secret even in Leeds to many people still so it is quite a thing for a world-wide drinking guide to have found it.

The Domino Club has been named among the 20 best hidden bars in the world.

The Difford’s Guide for Discerning Drinkers has listed the underground bar - accessed via a door at the back of a barber’s shop in the Grand Arcade - amongst picks from Amsterdam, Chicago, Paris, Shanghai, Sydney.

The Domino Club and two bars from London (Evans and Peel Detective Agency and Milk & Honey) are the only UK ones to feature in the compilation.

Of the bar it said: “One of a raft of secret bars to have opened in Leeds of late, a barber shop in a mall marks the concealed entrance to a classically styled speakeasy, complete with red leather booths and herringbone dance floor. And, just like speakeasies of yore, live bands play every single night.”

It opened last year and as you might expect - its website and facebook page add to the air of mysterious. No drinks menu and no offers being flung in your face - just a list of bands coming up so the best way to check it out is to see it for yourself - if you can find it?
