The official start date for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here has been announced by ITV.

The 2020 series will begin on Sunday 15 November.

When will it end?

At the time of writing, it's not been confirmed just when I’m A Celeb… 2020 will end.

That's because of the national lockdown being imposed on England throughout the month of November.

From a Welsh perspective, the show can go ahead – the two week “firebreak” lockdown in Wales will have ended by the show's start date, and since the stars will have been isolating beforehand, with the castle location Covid-free ahead of filming, it will be safe for production to go ahead.

But the English lockdown still places some uncertainty on the length of the show, and a source told the Mirror that show executives were discussing the situation “daily”.

"There have also been discussions about shortening the series to two weeks instead of a 3.5-week stint,” they said. “In the worst-case scenario this year’s series will have to be cancelled."

Where is it being filmed?

Since 2002, the show has been filmed in Australia’s New South Wales. But while bosses of the show tried to get around coronavirus travel restrictions for the 2020 series, they have not been able to secure their usual location this year.

Instead, the show will be filmed in the UK for the first time at Gwrych Castle in Abergele in North Wales, an unoccupied Grade I listed country house said to be haunted.

Extra filming has also been secured at a location called Manorafon Farm Park, which may be the spot in which the Bushtucker trials will take place.

ITV have confirmed the show will stick to its usual format, with celebs undertaking gross and fun-filled challenges in order to win treats in the lead up to a winner being crowned. Ant and Dec will continue to host the series.

All celebrities taking part will have to go into isolation for two weeks before filming begins, and will no doubt have to return a negative Covid-19 test before they are allowed to take part.

A spokesman for Gwrych Castle told the Mirror: “The overriding message is that filming can continue in Wales providing related activity cannot be undertaken from home, and there is full compliance with Welsh law.”

Will Extra Camp be returning?

Even before the coronavirus outbreak swept the globe in March, producers announced that I’m A Celeb… spin-off show Extra Camp would not be returning in 2020.

The show, which was hosted in 2019 by former contestants Emily Atack, Joel Dommett and Adam Thomas, will not be returning for 2020's series due to fees for the show's usual broadcasting slot being "expensive".

The show will instead be replaced by The Daily Drop, a new companion show that will air exclusively on the ITV Hub.

Hosted by TV and radio presenter Vick Hope from a virtual studio, the show will be available from 7am the morning after each main show airs, and can be watched at any time.
