2. Leeds Lieder
Dreams, Homeland and Childhood: Mezzo soprano Fleur Barron brings Chinese folk and art songs to Leeds Lieder in a very special online recital. Featuring songs by Brahms and Ives, the programme entitled Dreams, Homeland and Childhood is a totally different kind of cross-cultural dialogue. Running until May 8, this online event can be found through Leeds Town Hall.

3. Political cartoons at Leeds Library
Political cartoons from Leeds Central Library on May 7. Librarian Antony Ramm explores Leeds Central Library’s collection of more than 200 political cartoons from parliamentary elections in 19th-century Leeds. The event is free but booking is required and attendees will receive an email prior to the session with more details and a link for accessing the talk online.

4. Thwaite Watermill's 30th anniversary
Celebrate the 30th anniversary of when Thwaite Watermill became a museum and take a look at the site's fascinating industrial history, its transformation into a visitor attraction and the exciting things which happen there today. There has been a mill on the natural bend in the river at Thwaite for hundreds of years and products produced there have included textiles, putty, lubricants for sports cars and even food for local prisons. 5. Fast x Slow Fashion
Explore the history of shopping and fashion in Leeds from 1720 to the present day. This online exhibition shows how clothes shops have changed and looks back at some of the city’s biggest retail hotspots. It also highlights how people have sought alternative ways to consume fashion. As we face a global climate crisis, some are looking to the past for inspiration on ways to make fashion and shopping for clothes more sustainable. The exhibition can be found through the Leeds Museums and Galleries website.

6. Ones to Watch
Ones to Watch returns to the Gallery for 2021, showcasing some of the most exciting, emerging talent Yorkshire has to offer. The exhibition brings together work by artists from across disciplines, from painting to sculpture, film, photography, ceramics, design and more. Strong themes have emerged from the selection this year; with artists exploring ideas around identity, portraiture, lockdown, time, locality, craft and technology. Ones to Watch provides a unique platform to discover and experience the work of Yorkshire’s graduate artists during the coronavirus pandemic, when many degree shows may not be accessible.To coincide with the main exhibition, Ones to Watch will also have an Online Exhibition, featuring extra work and information about the artists. This is a Sunny Bank Mills event - off Farsley Town Street in Leeds. Runs through to June 6.
