1. Roundhay Park
Parklife: When Roundhay Park Went Pop is an online talk about the epic days and nights when Roundhay Park hosted iconic pop and rock concerts. Dr Peter Mills of Leeds Beckett University explores Roundhay Park’s part in live music through personal recollections, photos and objects including gig tickets and programmes. 2. Kirkstall Abbey
Growing On History: The Natural History of Abbeys, Castles and Ruins - Kirkstall Abbey's popular talks series has gone online. Here you have the chance to join Clare Brown, curator of natural sciences and explore the wildlife that takes advantage of abbey walls and their surroundings. No password or login is required and the talks are available on the Leeds Museums YouTube channel.
3. Leeds Art Gallery
Have a listen to a series of short, online talks from the team at Leeds Art Gallery about their Natural Encounters exhibition. The exhibition spans 400 years of nature in art, exploring the different strategies artists have used to approach, interpret or respond to nature.. In the Talking: Natural Encounters exhibition, staff and the gallery’s Youth Collective share their personal response and interpretation of individual artworks and invite you to do the same. 4. Leeds Civic Trust
On May 11 at 7pm you can take part on a virtual walk - Heritage and Nature Along the Aire and Calder Navigation. Discover the historic significance of this ever changing waterway as Leeds Civic Trust takes you on an illustrated virtual walk along the Aire and Calder Navigation. 5. Fast x Slow Fashion
Explore the history of shopping and fashion in Leeds from 1720 to the present day. This online exhibition shows how clothes shops have changed and looks back at some of the city’s biggest retail hotspots. It also highlights how people have sought alternative ways to consume fashion. As we face a global climate crisis, some are looking to the past for inspiration on ways to make fashion and shopping for clothes more sustainable. The exhibition can be found through the Leeds Museums and Galleries website.
6. Leeds International Film Festival
As part of the Leeds International Film Festival Selects Programme, see the Aussie remake of Rams which sees two estranged brothers at war over separate flocks of sheep descended from their familys prized bloodline. LIFF Presents: Rams can be found on the Leeds film player website and can be rented for 5. It's a fiction film filled with comedy and live action.
