Getting covered in mud has never looked so worthwhile as thousands of runners took on the Pretty Muddy challenge for charity.
More than 3,300 people gathered at Temple Newsam, in Leeds, dressed in pink knowing they would be crossing the finish line covered head to toe in mud.
But all the mess was for a worthwhile cause as people of all ages tackled the gruelling 5k obstacle course to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Thousands climbed, crawled and slid their way to the finish line and the YEP’s photographer Steve Riding was there to capture all the action.
