15 patriotic pictures as Morley flies the flag for return of St George's Day Parade

Morley flies the flag with patriotic pride for return of annual St George’s Day Parade.

Hundreds of people lined the streets of a Leeds market town for the return of its annual St George’s Day Parade.

The event, which has been held in Morley for the last two decades, saw generations of families soak up the sun on Sunday.

St George himself sat on horseback as he led the parade past the Town Hall through to the grounds of the rugby club.

He was joined by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue brass band and groups and clubs from the town.

The weekend-long festival parade began in 2005 and is thought to be the St George’s Day biggest celebration in the country.

Our photographer Steve Riding was there today to capture all of the action.
