Yorkshire golf: Headingley lady captain Pauline Cavanagh sponsors new event for club's 125th anniversary


The oldest golf club in Leeds, Headingley began as a nine-hole course at what is now Beckett's Park, moving to their present home at Adel in 1906.
The club are busy organising a variety of events to mark the occasion with Cavanagh launching the Quasicentennial Cup, which will be open to all members.

Hide AdThe ladies' captain said: "I wanted to do something to show how inclusive golf can be and that's why I am sponsoring this cup.
"The Quasicentennial Cup, a knock-out competition, will be open to all members - men, women and junior players - with the aim of producing a club champion."
She added: "Wouldn't it be great if the final was between a male and a female player?”
