Wharfedale boosted their battle to avoid relegation when they ran out 37-0 winners over high-flying Stourbridge in National Two North on Saturday.

The hosts were in control of the game from the off against their opponents who sit fourth in the table, with tries from Josh Burridge and Harry Bullough helping them to a 15-0 lead at the break.

It was more of the same in the second half, Burridge scoring his second with Scott Jordan, Robbie Davidson and Richard Rhodes all going over to give Wharfedale a resounding win.

Elsewhere, Harrogate came from behind to beat hosts Scunthorpe 18-15 and ease their National Two North relegation worries.

Tries from Jake Brady and Harry Barnard – plus two penalties and a conversion from David Doherty – gave them the win.

Otley also came from behind, trailing 7-3 at the break before going on to win 25-12 over Hinckley at Cross Green.

Huddersfield increased the gap at the top of National Three North when they ran in nine tries on their way to a 59-7 home victory at Ilkley’s expense.

Although the conversion was missed, Doncaster Phoenix denied hosts Cleckheaton a losing bonus when scrum-half James Thompson scored their third try in the 79th minute to make the final score 18-10.
