Turf Talk: Ivan Grozny on track for Betfred Ebor

The talented dual-purpose performer bolted up at Aintree’s Grand National meeting in the spring before landing a Grade Three hurdle at Tipperary at the start of July.
He reverted to the Flat at the Galway Festival three weeks later and was just as impressive.

Hide AdMullins said: “Ivan Grozny is definitely coming (to York) and seems in good form after his recent run in Galway.”
Ireland’s champion jumps trainer could also saddle the veteran Simenon in the prestigious handicap.
Following a disappointing run of form, the nine-year-old has won his last two starts over hurdles at Cork.
Mullins said: “He has a nice weight, so we will see nearer the day whether he will take part or not.”

Hide AdStablemate Renneti is rated 90 and is very unlikely to make the cut for the Ebor.
The County Carlow maestro won the Ebor with Sesenta in 2009 and was just denied a second success when Wicklow Brave finished runner-up to Litigant 12 months ago.
Wicklow Brave is set to return to the Knavesmire for a tilt at the Lonsdale Cup a week on Friday, a prize Mullins won last year with subsequent Melbourne Cup runner-up Max Dynamite.
“He ran well enough at Goodwood (fourth in Goodwood Cup), so we’ll have a crack at the Lonsdale and see how he goes,” said Mullins.

Hide Adl Hit It A Bomb will make his first appearance since his Breeders’ Cup heroics last October in the Invesco Pension Consultants Desmond Stakes at Leopardstown on Thursday – instead of running at Newbury two days later.
Hit It A Bomb holds an entry in the Betfred Hungerford Stakes at Newbury, but he is set to make his comeback closer to home.
