NCE League: Six-hit Collieries keep noses in front of Pickering on league ladder

Pontefract Collieries hit hosts Parkgate for six on Saturday to stay third on the Premier ladder on goals differene.

Colls led 2-1 at half-time. Vaughan Redford opened the scoring after only two minutes, but Parkgate levelled within a minute only for Kane Reece to restore the one-goal advantage before half-time.

Pontefract pulled away with further goals from Aaron Moxam, Redford and Michael Dunn before Parkgate bagged a consolation second goal after 80 minutes. Moxam completed his brace with goal no6 bang on the final whistle.

Luke Stewart bagged a first-half brace to give Harrogate Railway Athletic a 2-1 advantage at Bottesford Town, but the home side turned things around after the break to win 3-2.

In their Yorkshire derby, Hemsworth MW led twice with goals from Bradley Dockerty and Adam Hayton (from the penalty spot), but visiting fourth-placed Pickering Town had more in the tank and edged Welfare out with second-half goals from Joe Danby, Francis Belt and Matthew Turnbull.

Mark Simpson and Daniel Coupland were on target for Garforth Town in a 2-2 draw at Rainworth MW, where all the goals came in the first half.

Liversedge got the nap hand over hosts AFC Mansfield, winning 5-1. Joseph Walton opened the scoring and restored the lead after Oliver Fearon had equalised. Second-half strikes from Brandon Kane, Jacob Buchanan and Rhys Davies killed off further resistance.

A Luke Robinson goal 12 minutes from time was enough to give Thackley victory over visitors Albion Sports.

In Division One, AFC Emley were beaten 2-1 at Grimsby Borough, Knaresborough Town were held to a 1-1 draw by visitors Winterton Rangers, and two second-half goals from Adam Shaw gave Yorkshire Amateur a 2-1 victory at Worsbrough Bridge Athletic.
