Old Otliensians earned their place at Twickenham on RFU National Cup Finals Day on May 5 following their four-try 28-12 Junior Vase semi-final victory over Eccleshall.

Their tries came from full-back Alex Murphy, second-row Paddy Phipps, hooker Tom Howard and flanker Joe Armitage, while stand-off Will Cooper kicked two penalties and a conversion.

Otley eased farther away from relegation with a 29-3 win at home to South Leicester in National Two.

Tom O’Donnell opened the scoring for the home side on 20 minutes while Joe Rowntree converted.

The last 15 minutes saw three tries scored – a penalty try along with others from Jack Mackie and Rowntree to secure a bonus-point win with two minutes to spare.

North Premier strugglers Morley battled out a low-scoring 13-8 win over Kirkby Lonsdale.

The Cumbrian side edged ahead through outside-centre Matt Bargh.

Morley hit back with five minutes left of the first half through prop Dan Percival, and Mark Chester kicked two penalties and a conversion.

The win means Morley can still maintain hope of avoiding the drop.

Ilkley, meanwhile, secured their league survival but were beaten by champions Preston Grasshoppers.

The Yorkshire side took a valuable bonus point thanks to tries from prop Daniel Lawrence, scrum-half Jack Maplesden, winger Thomas Milner and flanker Patrick Power.
