Winger set for Castleford Tigers debut v Wakefield Trinity after loan move from Warrington Wolves
Loan signing Jake Thewlis is set to make his Castleford Tigers debut in Sunday’s Easter derby at home to Wakefield Trinity.
The Warrington Wolves winger has joined Tigers on a month’s loan from Warrington Wolves and could come into the side in place of Semi Valemei who suffered a head injury during last Thursday’s 40-28 win against Bradford Bulls. Thewlis, 20, scored 14 tries in 19 appearances for Warrington in 2025 and has also had spells on loan at North Wales Crusaders, London Broncos and Salford Red Devils.
He hasn’t played in Betfred Super League this year, but touched down twice in Warrington’s Challenge Cup win against Goole Vikings. Thewlis - whose older brother Josh Thewlis also plays for Warrington - said: “I’m really grateful to the club for bringing me in. I’m excited to get out there with the team and show what I can contribute to the group, while having the opportunity to develop my game with Super League game time.”

Tigers director of rugby Chris Chester added: “We are delighted to get Jake into Castleford Tigers. We are down on troops in the outside backs and being able to bring someone in of the quality of Jake is huge for us.”
