Trinity are due to take on visitors Warrington Wolves on Sunday, a week after their Betfred Super League round two fixture at home to Catalans Dragons was postponed.

Coach Chris Chester confirmed forwards Jordan Crowther (cheekbone) and George King (ankle) could come into contention for the first time since being injured playing against Leeds Rhinos on Boxing Day.

They were in line for a run out with the reserves last Sunday, against Leeds, but that game was also called off and Chester must now decide whether to throw them straight in against the Wolves.

“I picked a team to play at the weekend against Catalans and I can’t see much change for Warrington this weekend,” Chester said.

“We need to get through Sunday and then we’ve potentially got Dave Fifita, Tinirau Arona, Chris Green and a few other guys to come back.

“The only one who will be missing for a long period is Ben Jones-Bishop.”

Jones-Bishop joined Trinity’s casualty list before the season began, due to an unspecified illness.

Veteran half-back Danny Brough, who was initially feared to have suffered a season-ending knee injury against Hull KR, is on the road back, Chester revealed.

He said: “He thinks he will be back next week.

“We will see how he is.

“He is wanting to run, or try and run towards the back end of this week.

“I think he is being a bit optimistic with regards to the next couple of weeks and we certainly won’t be rushing him back.

“We have to make sure it is 100 per cent right, first and foremost so it is a week-to-week thing with Broughy.

“If he starts running this week we will see how he goes.”

Former Warrington centre Ryan Atkins, who rejoined Trinity late last year and made his was second debut at Hull KR, was named in the initial 21-man squad to face Catalans, despite a knee problem.

Chester is hopeful the extra week’s rest will give him an opportunity of featuring this weekend.
