The club have been punished for failing to remove captain Danny Kirmond from the field for assessment during their 18-16 Super League win at Widnes last month despite showing signs of concussion.

Since the start of the 2015 season, teams are allowed an extra free interchange in the event of a player suffering an injury that requires a pitch-side concussion assessment. The rule was introduced to safeguard players against the unseen dangers of concussion.

Huddersfield were the last club to be punished for breaching concussion guidelines. They were fined £1,000 last October for leaving Luke Robinson on the field during a game against Castleford.
