It was a miserable first meeting with his former club for Toronto boss Brian McDermott, but Rhinos coach Richard Agar saw more evidence his side are heading in the right direction.
“We played the team at the bottom of the table who are having it tough at the moment so we are not going to get carried away,” Agar stressed.
But he enthused: “I thought with the ball we were good.

“Defensively we were really challenged. We did a lot of running about, chasing shadows in the first half.
“Our missed tackle count will be quite high and we challenged the boys at half-time to be a bit more ruthless defensively, but – having said that – we conceded two tries and the way we attacked was terrific and great to watch.”
Rhinos travel to Catalans Dragons next week and then face St Helens at home and Castleford Tigers away before a Coral Challenge Cup sixth round tie.
“We have got a big month coming up,” Agar said.

“Some setbacks will come, but I am confident we’ve got a group of guys who will weather some setbacks along the way. After what happened in round one I think we can be pleased with the way we’ve turned it around, so far.”
McDermott insisted Wolfpack will be alright in the long term, saying: “You look at that performance and it’s horrible.
“It’s as bad as it gets and you’ve got to go through these things.
“Clubs and teams l go through these really ugly days where you find out just how ugly we are and it doesn’t make things okay but you’ve got to go through these along the journey.”
