“Our last three games have been against full-time teams,” Sharp added. “We have done extremely well, but Sheffield will certainly be there or thereabouts at the end of the year, so it is going to be tough.”

Batley came through their Easter wins over Dewsbury and Whitehaven with no major new injury concerns. They travel to Oldham tomorrow and coach John Kear said: “We were delighted with the last two wins, but the third game over Easter is always the hardest. It is a dangerous fixture because Oldham are playing some good rugby league and we have to be fully prepared, as we are for any team.”
