Super League round one fixtures revealed - Leeds Rhinos face Wakefield Trinity and Castleford Tigers take on Warrington Wolves

Super League has confirmed the first round will be staged behind closed doors at Leeds’ Emerald Headingley, beginning on Friday, March 26.

That is one day later than previously announced.

Top-flight clubs will play 25 games in the regular season, including the Dacia Magic Weekend at Newcastle’s St James’ Park on September 4-5.

The opening game of the new campaign will see champions St Helens face Salford Red Devils at Headingley on Friday, March 26 (6pm), followed by Wigan Warriors against Leigh Centurions (8.15pm).

Rhinos and Trinity begin their season at 3pm the following day, Saturday, March 27, before Catalans Dragons take on Hull KR (5.15pm).

Round one concludes on Sunday, March 28, with Hull against Huddersfield Giants (12.30pm), followed by Castleford’s meeting with Warrington (2.45pm).

Super League say the full fixture list will be announced on Friday, February 26, a month before the opening game.

All six round one matches will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Arena.

Super League club season ticket holders will also be able to watch their team’s game via the RFL’s Our League app.

The Super League Grand Final will take place as originally scheduled at Old Trafford on Saturday, October 9.

He added: “Confirmation that Dacia Magic Weekend remains an important part of the 2021 season shows our commitment to the event and thanks must go to Newcastle United in supporting us to achieve this.

“Whilst it is frustrating for all involved to not be welcoming fans back into our stadiums for the start of the season, we are hopeful that as the situation in the country continues to improve and the vaccine roll out nears completion, we will be seeing fans enjoying live sport again soon.

“We will continue to work with all of our stakeholders to ensure that we are ready to deliver the return of fans in a safe and secure way.”
