Pryce keen to sing for Hunslet's supper - but ex-teammates say 'Shaddup You Face'

Former Hunslet forward Steve Pryce plans to stage an online concert to raise money for the south Leeds club - but ex-teammates have appealed for the sound of silence.

The fans’ favourite front-rower, who was inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame 2018, is known as much for his singing voice as he was for his tough tacking during his playing days. He said: “These are difficult times for everyone and I’m happy to do my bit to support the club. If we all stand together we can come through this. A number of my ex-teammates have been wanting me to do something like this for some time, so this is for them.”

However, some of his old colleagues have a less charitable opinion of Pryce’s talent and Mick Coyle, David Brook and Richard Baker have created a rival ‘Stop Prycie Singing’ donation page. Coyle said: “We had season after season of his singing - training sessions, match days and long coach trips to Cumbria.

“It’s the one thing I don’t miss from my playing days. We have to raise money to stop this - so please give generously.”
