The show is set in the fictional Melbourne suburb of Erinsborough and filmed on a real cul-de-sac, Pin Oak Court, which doubles as Ramsey Street.

England winger Ryan Hall, club captain Kallum Watkins and forward Stevie Ward visited the Neighbours set on Tuesday – which was a day off from training – and were due to feature in a scene in the show’s pub, The Waterhole.

Rhinos media manager Phil Daly revealed: “When we knew we were coming to Melbourne I sent an email to Freemantlemedia [who produce the soap] and Channel Five [which broadcasts it in the UK] saying we’d love to visit the set.

“I got a reply back saying they’d pass it on to the relevant people.

“In January I contacted them again letting them know when we’d be here and they suggested some of the boys being in a scene – and they’d rewrite it for them.”

The scene which was due to be filmed yesterday starred characters Paul Robinson (played by Stefan Dennis) and Steph Scully (Carla Bonner).

Apparently, Robinson spots the players in the bar and tells them he is a big Rhinos fan and has tickets for Friday’s World Club Challenge against Melbourne Storm.

The players had one line – or word – of dialogue between them.

They and some backroom staff were also treated to a tour of the set.

The episode is due to air in the next few days.
