London Broncos 22 Dewsbury Rams 18: Rams start and finish okay but get in a bit of a muddle in the middle

Former Hunslet man Kyle Trout crossed for Dewsbury's final try in the capital at the weekend.

Rams dominated in the first quarter and Dalton Grant’s early try was richly deserved. Broncos eventually clicked into gear, and responded through Rhys Williams. The Welsh international scored another just before the break, this time dancing through the Rams’ defence.

Jason Crookes touched down for Dewsbury and they went in after 40 minutes with a two-point cushion as Wes Naiqama failed to convert Williams’ second score.

William Barthau put London ahead for the first time in the game from his grubber kick. Yorkshireman Matt Garside was next to score.

But the Broncos had to tough it out in the last 10 minutes as Naiqama was given a yellow card following an altercation.

With London down to 12 men the Rams began to work their way back into the game; kicking themselves into a good position before Kyle Trout touched down in goal.

With only four points separating the two sides, the vocal home support made themselves count as Dewsbury coughed up the ball with less than a minute left, before London completed their final set and ensure of another home win for Andrew Henderson’s men.
