‘Lifeline’ grants awarded to community clubs Milford, East Leeds and Fryston Warriors
The cash has been awarded from the CreatedBy RLWC2021 capital grants programme, which is a partnership between next year’s World Cup, the Rugby Football League, Sport England and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
Milford committee member Jimmy Bray said: “The awarding of £13,926 will allow us to redevelop our 3G training area and surroundings at the club.

“We’re obviously delighted with the award of the grant that will go to ensuring our junior players have a safe and vastly improved training facility for years to come.”
Easts have been awarded £14,852 to complete a refurbishment, upgrade and overall improvement of their clubhouse facilities.
Easts’ vice-chairman Antony Gregg said: “This is an ideal opportunity to execute this project to provide all at our club with something positive at a time of such uncertainty and negativity.

“With the support of the CreatedBy RLWC2021 capital grants programme and Inner East Community Committee this will enable [our] vision to become a reality and provide an increasingly secure future for this important community club and the people who depend upon it.”
Castleford-based Fryston Warriors have received £1,500 from the same fund.
The money will be used to replace goal posts which collapsed during a game and provide new post protectors.

Hide AdClub secretary Malcolm Agar said: “Everything was in place to replace the damaged posts with local sponsors funding the cost and then Covid-19 hit and everything went out of the window. The RLWC2021 capital grants programme was the lifeline we needed.”
