1996

A crowd of just 6,242 watched Leeds beat Castleford Tigers 25-18 at Headingley.

Marvin Golden, Carl Hall, Gary Mercer and Barrie McDermott scored Leeds’ tries and Graham Holroyd kicked four goals and a drop.

2001

A try from Robbie Mears, above, in the 76th minute earned Rhinos a 22-22 draw with visitors Warrington Wolves at Headingley, in front of 12,178.

Other try scorers were Rob Burrow, who also kicked four goals, Tonie Carroll and Mark Calderwood.

Leeds were shocked 34-28 at Widnes Vikings, whose former Rhinos centre Adam Hughes scored four tries.

Try scorers for Rhinos – who trailed 30-6 at half-time – were Ben Walker, Francis Cummins, Danny McGuire, Willie Poching and Keith Senior.

Walker added four goals.

Twelve years later, Leeds were 38-28 victors on the same ground thanks to tries by Danny McGuire (2), Tom Briscoe, Kallum Watkins, Kevin Sinfield, Liam Sutcliffe and Josh Walters.

Sinfield kicked five goals.
