Leeds Rhinos warn fans over 'inappropriate and unacceptable' chanting: club could be fined for bad behaviour
Leeds Rhinos have urged fans to avoid “inappropriate and unacceptable” chanting at future matches.
Ahead of this weekend’s away derby against Castleford Tigers, Rhinos have warned that incidents of “inappropriate behaviour” - at home or away games - could lead to the club being fined. A statement on the club’s website said: “Leeds Rhinos would like to remind all supporters to refrain from inappropriate and unacceptable chanting both at AMT Headingley and when travelling away supporting the club.
“Leeds Rhinos are proud of our supporters and want to ensure that we maintain our reputation. All supporters, whether at home or away, are governed by the RFL’s various codes of conduct and regulation and inappropriate behaviour could lead to financial sanctions for the club. Thank you for your support and understanding on this matter.”

It is not clear if the appeal is in response to any specific incidents. Rhinos have been contacted for comment. A near full-house is expected at Castleford for this week’s rare Sunday afternoon showdown.
