Opposition’s star man: Hooker Daryl Clark has been consistently good for Warrington since joining them from Castleford Tigers in 2015. Outstanding around the ruck, the England and Great Britain star can damage defences on his own and bring dangermen like Blake Austin and Gareth Widdop into play.

Key battle: The showdown in the halves will be crucial. Leeds’ Rob Lui and Luke Gale are gelling as a combination, but will need to be at their best against Warrington’s star pairing of Blake Austin and Gareth Widdop.

Opposition form: Warrington have won both their home games so far, beating Toronto Wolfpack last Friday and whitewashing champions St Helens in round two, but have yet to pick up a point on their travels. They opened with a narrow defeat at Wigan Warriors, when captain Chris Hill was sent-off, but slumped 18-8 at Wakefield Trinity on their previous visit to West Yorkshire.

Previous meeting: September 13, 2019. Betfred Super League round 29. Leeds Rhinos 26 (Tries L Sutcliffe, Lui, Cuthbertson, L Briscoe. Goals Martin 4, Jones-Buchanan), Warrington Wolves 4 (Try Charnley). Referee: Marcus Griffiths. Attendance: 14,085.

Super League record: Leeds won 34 (includes win in 2012 Grand Final and 2011 play-offs), Warrington won 22 (includes wins in 2006 and 2013 play-offs), one draw.

Milestones: Leeds’ Joe Greenwood needs one appearance for 100 in Super League, Luke Gale needs eight points to reach 1,500 in Super League. Warrington’s Joe Philbin needs one appearance to reach 150 for his career.

Team news: Loan signing from Wigan Joe Greenwood is poised for his Rhinos debut. Rhyse Martin is back in contention after two games on the sidelines. Warrington are without full-back Matty Ashton, but prop Chris Hill returns from a three-game ban.
