Leeds Rhinos are keeping tabs on York City Knights’ Australian-born second-row/centre Bailey Antrobus.

The 22-year-old attracted the attention of Rhinos’ management with a series of strong performances for Wales during their World Cup campaign.

The Welsh lost all three matches, but Antrobus impressed after starting in the second-row against Tonga, Cook Islands and in Monday’s defeat by Papua New Guinea at Doncaster.

Antrobus joined York from St George-Illawarra Dragons in May, initially on a deal until the end of this season and recently signed a new contract for 2023 so is unlikely to be available before then.

The Wollongong-born prospect, who scored three tries in 15 games for York, qualifies for Wales as a heritage player and made his debut against France in June.
