Leeds Rhinos' Maika Sivo one try away from Super League record held by Hull FC legend
Leeds Rhinos’ try-scoring sensation Maika Sivo is on the verge of another record.
The winger’s 10-game scoring streak is the longest by a Leeds player in Betfred Super League and if he touches down away to Catalans Dragons on Saturday he will equal the competition’s best run. That is held by Richard Horne who scored tries in 11 successive Super League fixtures for Hull FC between April 22 and July 15, 2006.
Sivo’s streak began with a single touchdown at home to Huddersfield Giants on April 17. He has since scored against Catalans (one try), Wakefield Trinity (three), Wigan Warriors (one), Huddersfield (one), St Helens (one), Toulouse Olympique (two), Warrington Wolves (three), Hull KR (two) and Bradford Bulls (one).

The Fijian is now on 30 tries for the season, 28 of those in Super League. He is the first Rhinos player to reach 30 in a year since Ryan Hall finished with 33 back in 2012. The record for Super League tries in a single campaign is 40, set by Castleford Tigers’ Denny Solomona 10 years ago.
Leeds’ all-time record for tries in consecutive games is held by Hall of Fame member Eric Harris who crossed the whitewash in 17 successive matches in 1935-36. That is also a world record in top-level rugby league.
Rhinos’ Jake Connor and Kallum Watkins are also one game away from a personal milestone. Connor’s next appearance will the the 300th of his career and Watkins needs one more to reach a similar number for Leeds.
