Skipper Stevie Ward has not yet recovered from the concussion he suffered in the Betfred Super League round one loss to Hull three weeks ago.

He remains on the casualty list alongside vice-captain Rhyse Martin who missed last week’s big win over Hull KR following minor surgery.

Leeds are also without long-term casualties Dom Crosby, Tom Briscoe and Kruise Leeming.

Centre/second-rower Alex Sutcliffe has been named in Rhinos’ initial 21-man squad for the first time this year, having recovered from a broken hand suffered on Leeds’ warm weather training camp in Spain last month.

Sutcliffe made one appearance for Rhinos in 2019, featuring as a substitute against London Broncos at the Magic Weekend last May, but scored 16 tries in 19 games during an impressive dual-registration stint with Featherstone Rovers.

Also in contention alongside the 17 players on duty in the 52-10 win over Hull KR are outside-back Rhys Evans, stand-off Callum McLelland and prop Tom Holroyd.

McLelland scored a try and Holroyd also started for Featherstone in their Betfred Championship win over Bradford Bulls last Sunday.
