Leeds legend Rob Burrow acknowledged in Rhinos’ new-look strip

Leeds Rhinos have unveiled an new look for their 2021 home shirt that incorporates the club’s traditional colours of blue and amber but with a modern twist and a special feature to acknowledge Rhinos legend Rob Burrow as he continues his battle with motor neurone disease.

The shirt incorporates white and blue as its main colours with seven narrow amber bands in between to symbolise the famous seven shirt worn by Burrow. The stripes also feature on the shorts and socks. The shirt is a fresh new look symbolising a bold new design for the recently announced 10-year partnership between Leeds Rhinos and OXEN.

After extensive feedback work with supporters, the shirt features a collar for the first time since 2009 and an embroidered Leeds Rhinos crest.

Elite Pro Sports CEO, Lee Jenkinson, said: “We made a decision early in the design process that we would look to incorporate an acknowledgement to Rob Burrow as a subtle reminder to all of us that Rob and his family remain in our thoughts.

“Having discussed at length with numerous supporters and senior personnel within the club, we were keen to ensure the first Rhinos home shirt during our new partnership had a fresh new feel to it and as with all our kit designs, was unique to the club.”

Rhinos commercial director Rob Oates added: “The great new look will give the Rhinos a distinctive style next season in the Betfred Super League. The seven stripes for Rob Burrow is a great example of that and is a nice touch. I am sure the team will look great when they run out in the new kit for 2021.”

The adult shirts are sized XS to 6XL with Ladies shirts available in sizes 8-20, both priced £49.99. Junior shirts are £39.99 in sizes age 6 to 14 with toddler shirts, age 0 to 4, priced at £29.99.

Replica shorts are available for adults in sizes XS to 3XL priced £25.99 and juniors in sizes 6 years to 14 priced £22.99.
