The company’s director Jason Peterkin is a long-term Hunslet fan and was prompted to back the Betfred League One outfit by his father, David.

“Dad is a lifelong Hunslet supporter and I started watching them at the Greyhound Stadium before following them week in week out when they played at Mount Pleasant, Batley and subsequently at Elland Road,” Jason Peterkin said.

“Dad asked me to look at getting involved with the club at the end of last year.

“As we know there were some stormy waters at the time, but the board and the fans have rallied and the future looks bright for 2021.”

Peterkin added: “Everyone is disappointed that this season has been cancelled, but there is much optimism for 2021 and I’m looking forward to being part of the team that takes Hunslet to the Championship.”

Hunslet chairman Kenny Sykes described the deal as "a tremendous partnership for the club".

He said: "Not only in terms of the sponsorship, but for the business acumen Jason will bring to the board in a consultancy role.

“Hunslet is a family club and, once again, it is strong family links that have come to the fore.

“Long may that continue.”

Jason’s son Oliver plays as a winger for Huddersfield Giants' academy and could have a future opportunity to play for Hunslet on dual-registration.
