Rovers are set to welcome back Kyle Briggs for his third spell at the club when they face Super League visitors Salford Red Devils (3pm). Ex-Salford prop Darrell Griffin has recovered from a hand injury and is also added to the team which lost 22-18 to Wakefield Trinity Wildcats last Sunday.

Coach Jon Sharp is looking for a similar performance. He said: “I could not have asked for any more, I thought we were the better side and we were a bit unlucky with a try by Anthony Thackeray which wasn’t given. It is about performing well, getting combinations and gelling and we did that last week.”

Rams visit Super League giants St Helens (3pm) and boss Glenn Morrison said: “We’ve spoken to them and they’re running full-strength, apart from a couple out injured.

“It should be a good experience for the boys. They are a top-quality side and they have recruited well so I am looking forward to seeing how the boys go against them.”

Rams will still be without up to seven players due to injury, but Aaron Brown and Karl Pryce are both set to make their first pre-season appearance.

Bulldogs play host to a Heavy Woollen Select team, who are co-coached by former Batley and Hunslet centre Danny Maun (2pm).
