Former Goole winger Halliday in line to make debut for Dewsbury Rams

Kelly reckons Rams’ final Kingstone Press Championship Shield league fixture before next weekend’s semi-final at Toulouse Olympique is an ideal opportunity to blood his cross-code prospect.
Kelly admitted it is a “dead rubber” and he said: “We can’t move in the league and Oldham realistically are down so I am going to rest some players, as best I can with a small squad.

“It’s the perfect game to make his debut in because anything he does or doesn’t do has no more implications than winning or losing the game.”
Places in the semi-final squad are up for grabs. Kelly said: “One or two will be playing to show they are the right people to take to Toulouse.
“Others we want to just keep ticking over and others won’t be playing because we feel they need a rest before the Toulouse game.”

“We want to get back to winning ways,” Kelly added.
“We could and should have beaten Swinton and Bradford and we want the losing run to stop at three.”
