The 2010 World Club Challenge winner joined Rovers last January before going on to enjoy a fine season at the LD Nutrition Stadium.

He made 28 appearances and was the club's top try-scorer with 18 tries, helping Featherstone reach the play-offs and Championship Grand Final in Toronto.

King left the Parramatta Eels at the end of the 2018 campaign and felt that was his last opportunity in the NRL.

“It’s was good to get here, meet everyone and jump straight into it,” King said of his move to the Sharks.

“I wasn’t sure I’d get another opportunity in the NRL, so I’m grateful to be back.

"It’s good to get here and I’m excited about the year ahead.”

King started his career with St. George Illawarra and had spells at North Queensland Cowboys and Parramatta before his move to Featherstone.

The hooker's exit from Rovers was confirmed late last week, when he took to social media to thank the club for "one of the best" seasons of his career.

He said: "Thank you Featherstone Rovers and everyone involved in the club for one of the best years of my career/life.

"I felt welcomed from day one and love the passion that makes the club so special.

"I gave everything I had to give and will remember 2019 forever. I wish the club all the best."

In more positive news for Rovers, King’s compatriot Conor Carey has re-signed with the club for another season.

The winger scored 10 tries in 24 appearances for Featherstone last campaign.

He said: “I’m happy to be signed up for a second season at Featherstone. We have a talented squad that we’ve managed to add to. I’m excited to work under a new coach as well.”
