Rhinos have confirmed Dwyer is the player who tested positive last week.

He is now isolating, as are teammates Konrad Hurrell and Bodene Thompson and youngster Corey Hall, who were all identified on track and trace.

Dwyer was suspended for last week’s Cup tie against Hull KR, but will also miss the Betfred Super League rematch on Thursday.

“It has been difficult, but hopefully I am coming through the other side now,” said Dwyer, who suffered a severe headache and flu-like symptoms.

"I am feeling back to myself now.

“It has been about a week now since I found out I’d had a positive test.

“I am not sure where it has come from, or where I have caught it from, but from that news I was isolating straight away and I’ve not been out since.

“If I am still symptom-free, from the back end of this week I am allowed to come back and live a normal life, as long as I get a negative test.

“Then it is a seven-day return to play protocol I have got to go through, to make sure everything is all right with my heart and my lungs before I go back to playing rugby.”

Dwyer said the club have “been great” since his positive test, including dropping off food and “care packages” during his isolation in Leeds.

“There’s been so much work behind the scenes and I think now it is coming to fruition,” Dwyer added.

“My case has not wiped the club out.

“I think we’ve seen with other clubs once there’s been one case or someone’s been in contact with someone they’ve had to stand the whole organisation down.

“That has not been the case There’s been a couple of boys stood down, but hopefully they’ve not got it or any symptoms, but it proves what the club has been doing is working.”

Dwyer hopes to be available for the Coral Challenge Cup semi-final against his hometown club Wigan on Saturday, October 3.

"It's exciting," he said.

"They are the games you want to be a part of.

"Wigan are flying high at the minute, but we are confident if we turn up and play like we can do we will be fine and we'll give them a good game.

"It's a semi-final and anything can happen."
