Welham, who has an option for 2021, joined Rovers in 2017 and played in last year’s Super League Grand Final and the recent Coral Challenge Cup final defeat by Leeds Rhinos.

He will finish this year with Salford before joining Featherstone in pre-season.

Welham spent nine years with Hull KR, featuring in their 2015 Challenge Cup final team, before a two-season spell at Bradford Bulls.

Rovers coach James Webster said: “I have been lucky enough to have known Kris since we played together at Hull KR.

“His try scoring record over a career that has spanned close to 15 years shows the quality he possesses.

“Even when highlighting his fantastic try scoring record, it is his attitude and effort within the clubs he has represented that will always be his biggest asset.

“He is a fantastic club man that will always play his heart out for the shirt and those that come and spend their hard-earned cash every week to watch the sport.”

Welham is Rovers’ second signing from Salford for next year, after Connor Jones.
