Ex-Leeds Rhinos, Wakefield Trinity veteran Liam Hood signs new Castleford Tigers contract
Veteran former Leeds Rhinos and Wakefield Trinity hooker Liam Hood has signed a new deal with Castleford Tigers.
The 34-year-old joined Tigers from Trinity in pre-season having begun his professional career with Leeds and also played for Dewsbury Rams, Hunslet, Salford, Swinton Lions, Widnes Vikings and Leigh. The contract extension will keep him at Castleford until the end of 2027.
Hood, who scored four tries in 17 appearances in his debut campaign at Tigers, said: “I’m really pleased to have extended for another season. I was frustrated with how I personally went [this] year with injuries and not finding my best form and also how we went as a team.

“I knew we could be so much better, but the club has made some great signings and I can’t wait to get back in and hopefully have a great year.”
Hood is the second Tigers player to extend his stay at the club this week, after Ashton Golding’s new deal was announced on Monday. Castleford director of rugby Chris Chester added: “Liam is an experienced player who brings composure, leadership and a winning mentality to our squad. We’re delighted to have him on board for 2027 as we continue to strengthen the group and move this club forward.”
