Rams have signed young centre Cameron Scott on loan from Hull and also recruited Villeneuve front-rower Paddy Jones.

The Betfred Championship takes a break this weekend for the fifth round of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup, but Rams have rearranged a fixture at home to Halifax on Sunday.

The game was postponed on Easter Monday due to snow.

Dewsbury coach Neil Kelly said it is too early for either Jones or Scott to play this week.

“Cameron is really well thought of in Hull,” Kelly said.

“I have spoken to my brother [Andy Kelly] who has coached in the England academy set up and he says he is a good prospect.

“I am looking forward to working with him over the coming month.

“It is an initial one-month loan, but with a view to making it longer.”

Jones is a Wigan academy product and has Championship experience with Rochdale Hornets.

Kelly said: “He went to play in France, but I think Villeneuve have had a few problems off the field and he has become a victim of that.

“We have looked to secure him for the rest of the season, with a view to the season beyond that.

“He won’t be playing this weekend.

“I need to see him in a game first so he will be playing for Wakefield’s reserves at Halifax on Saturday.”
