Dewsbury Rams 38 Workington Town 16: Town torn apart by Dewsbury's clinical second-half display

The Rams trailed 10-8 at half-time but scored six tries after the break to complete a satisfying victory.

Centre Jason Crookes put Dewsbury ahead inside the first minute with an unconverted try.

Town struck back with a Callum Phillips try, converted by Carl Forber.

But Dewsbury regained the lead when winger Dalton Grant squeezed in at the left corner.

In a nip-and-tuck first half, centre Declan Hulme edged Workington back in front with an unconverted try only to then be sin-binned after Workington had been put on a team warning.

Dewsbury hit a purple patch after the break, scoring four tries in 11 minutes as half-backs Ben Reynolds and Andy Kain dictated play.

Crookes added his second try, and winger Dale Morton leapt to gather a crossfield kick to touch down before Kain dived between the posts following a fierce drive by Matt Groat.

Reynolds added all three goals as the Rams led 26-10.

Grant leapt to gather another kick to grab his second try and Josh Guzdek was on the end of brilliant passing Rams move to score their seventh try.

Workington responded with a Jason Mossop try, converted by Forber, but Dewsbury had the last word when Kyle Trout raced over in the final minute.
