Mark Foster, the RFL’s chief commercial officer, said: “Flexibility has been key throughout the various challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic to all sport this year, and the Coral Challenge Cup is no exception.

“We are grateful to our sponsors, to the BBC, and to the clubs involved for recognising the need for that flexibility, as we all work towards providing the best possible climax for the game’s historic knockout competition, in the sport’s 125th year.”
