Cup draw produces intriguing ties

The draw for the fifth round of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup produced a series of intriguing ties - including four games between Super League clubs and promotion hopefuls in the Championship.

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, currently bottom of First Utility Super League, face a testing game at home to Halifax, who are fourth in the Kingstone Press Championship.

Bradford Bulls, relegated from Super League last year, were handed an opportunity to measure their progress at home to Hull KR, while Hull will visit another club with top-flight aspirations, Sheffield Eagles.

The tie of the round sees big-spending Salford Red Devils travel to Championship leaders Leigh Centurions in the only game not involving a Yorkshire club.

Hunslet Hawks will have home advantage in an all-Championship tie against Dewsbury Rams and Batley Bulldogs and Featherstone Rovers face League One opposition, at home to Swinton Lions and away against North Wales Crusaders respectively.

League One York City Knights were drawn away to amateur survivors Leigh Miners Rangers.

The full Challenge Cup fifth round draw is: Hunslet Hawks v Dewsbury Rams, Leigh Miners Rangers v York City Knights, Bradford Bulls v Hull KR, Sheffield Eagles v Hull, Batley Bulldogs v Swinton Lions, North Wales Crusaders v Featherstone Rovers, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats v Halifax, Leigh Centurions v Salford Red Devils.
