Coronavirus setback for Salford Red Devils ahead of Challenge Cup final meeting with Leeds Rhinos

Two Salford Red Devils players have tested positive for Covid-19, ruling them out of Saturday's Coral Challenge Cup final against Leeds Rhinos.

Both players have been required to self-isolate, along with two others whose results were inconclusive.

Salford's game against Hull KR at Warrington today (Tuesday) was put back an hour as the club awaited the outcome of their latest testing.

A Salford statement said: "Training sessions were cancelled on both Sunday and Monday as a precautionary measure, meaning no additional players are impacted."

Salford were beaten 24-22 by Hull KR after Jamie Ellis kicked a penalty goal from the Robins in the final seconds.
