Championship/League 1: Rams overrun in Broncos' try stampede as Hunslet are blown away in second half at Thunder


It finished 64-6 to the hosts after leading 24-0 at half-time.
Half-back Jarrod Sammut ended the day with a hat-trick of tries, while hooker Matt Davis and winger Rhys Williams each bagged a brace.

Other scorers in the 11-try romp for the Broncos were former Wakefield Trinity junior Jay Pitts, Ben Evans, Will Lovell and centre Elliot Kear. Half-back Danny Ansell scored Dewsbury’s consolation try, with centre James Glover adding just two points from his solitary conversion.


London Broncos are fourth in the Championship table on 16 points with Rams in eighth – a staggering 10 points adrift of the team from the capital. Toronto Wolfpack, on 21 points, still lead the way with Featherstone Rovers and Toulouse Olympique – on 20 and 18 points respectively – in hot pursuit.
The visitors were still in contention at half-time, trailing by just six points at 16-10 down on the North East-based club.

Hide AdBut Hunslet were nilled in the second half as Thunder struck without reply.


Hooker Jack Lee and loose-forward Liam Mackay got over the opposition whitewash for Hunslet, with stand-off Joe Sanderson landing just the one conversion.
Next up for Hunslet are York who set a new English record with a 144-0 victory over West Wales Raiders on Sunday.
