Dorn, 33, is set to make his comeback from injury when Tigers visit Rhinos tomorrow. Leeds are bottom of First Utility Super League, but their injury crisis has seen a gaggle of youngsters given an opportunity at the top level and Dorn said: “They’re just incredible.

“Leeds, along with Wigan and St Helens, just continue to churn out quality players, one after another. To have as many injuries as they have had and to be as competitive as they have been with these kids that have seemingly come in from nowhere is impressive and just a testament to their junior academies and how they go about developing their talent pools.”

Dorn – who described Leeds as his favourite away game –feels injuries have been the main factor in Rhinos’ poor season, but he added: “Every cloud has a silver lining and these guys are going to come out the other side having a lot of experience. Long-term it will be something they will be able to draw on.”

Meanwhile, London Broncos’ former Castleford, Hunslet and Leeds forward Jamie Thackray has been granted an RFL testimonial for 20 years’ service to the sport.
