Tough times for Leeds as defeat to Sheffield Hallam sees them hit rock-bottom in National One North

Goals for Carlos Hollyman, Daniel Mills and Jack Fletcher – plus a red card for opposition player Andre Bradford - weren’t enough for Leeds Men as they lost 5-3 to Sheffield Hallam on Sunday.

After going a goal down within the first minute, and being three behind after 25, it was always going to be an uphill struggle for Leeds, who now replace Sheffield at the bottom of the National Division One North table.

Sheffield were always in control of this match, and weren’t going to give their near neighbours any time to settle into the game.

Dominant from first whistle to last, Sheffield took advantage of the current run of bad form Leeds are experiencing, to record their first points of the season

Leeds Ladies are stuck in a run of bad form themselves, and Saturday’s game away at Stourport brought on more despair, as the home side ran out 6-1 victors.

Leeds were never really in the game as they were 3-0 adrift within the first 25 minutes.

A goal for Amelia Milton gave a sliver of hope to the visiting team, but another three goals from open play by Stourport left no-one in doubt who was the stronger side.

Hosting Leicester this coming Saturday, Leeds will be hoping that as underdogs they can get back to winning ways.
